Periodontology

Periodontology is the study of a specialized system of hard (bone) and soft tissue (gingiva) that supports the teeth and maintains its position in the maxilla and mandible (bones of the skull). This set of tissues is called periodontium and is composed of alveolar bone, root cement, periodontal ligament and gingiva.

Gum disease is most often a consequence of the most common laziness. Calling dentists for thorough oral hygiene (morning and evening cleaning, rinsing after meals) are not simple horror stories. If you do not brush your teeth before bed, micro particles of food and a whole army of bacteria remain in your mouth, which have something to profit from. And while you sleep, bacteria feed, multiply, leave a lot of toxic waste products in the body. And in those places where pathogenic microorganisms rage, an inflammatory process develops.
